Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Gameboard.gg (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service is operated by Gameboard (“we”, “us”, “our”).

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account or use features that require authentication. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years old.

If you are between 13 and 18 years old, you represent that you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service and that they have read and agree to these Terms on your behalf.

Playing games as an unauthenticated visitor (without creating an account) does not require meeting a minimum age, as no personal data is collected.

3. Accounts

To submit scores to leaderboards, you must create an account using an email address and password, or by signing in with Google OAuth.

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You may not create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or manipulate leaderboards.
  • You may delete your account at any time. Deletion permanently removes your profile and scores.

4. Gameplay and scores

Gameboard.gg hosts a collection of browser-based minigames. Some games may be played without an account; score submission to public leaderboards requires authentication.

  • Scores are submitted automatically at the end of a game session.
  • Scores are immutable once submitted. They cannot be edited or selectively deleted.
  • We reserve the right to remove scores that are determined to be fraudulent or the result of exploitation.
  • Leaderboards are public. Your display name and scores are visible to all visitors.

5. Fair play policy

All players must play fairly. The following are prohibited:

  • Manipulating scores through modified clients, browser extensions, or direct API tampering.
  • Exploiting bugs to gain an unfair advantage. If you discover a bug, please report it.
  • Submitting scores through any means other than the official game interface.
  • Creating multiple accounts to inflate leaderboard positions.
  • Attempting to access the database directly or bypass server-side validation.

Violations may result in score removal, account suspension, or permanent ban at our sole discretion.

6. Intellectual property

The Gameboard.gg name, logo, game designs, source code, and original artwork are the property of Gameboard or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

Some game assets are sourced from third-party libraries published under open licences (e.g., CC0 / public domain). These assets remain subject to their original licence terms.

7. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including through denial-of-service attacks or automated scraping beyond the provided API.
  • Reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by applicable law.
  • Upload or transmit any malicious code.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Game availability, features, and leaderboard data may change without notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Gameboard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury arising from our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Reasons for termination include, but are not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms or the Fair Play Policy.
  • Fraudulent or illegal activity.

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your dashboard. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
