How to play Skyrill

A visual guide · Make your first hit and discover Wing fire with illustrated examples.

Your goal

Follow a clear line. Light up the river.

Steer your propeller plane, clear drone formations and ride mint wakes for bright twin Wing fire. Protect your hull and keep flying through endless waves.

These are simplified teaching diagrams, separate from your live field. Skyrill runs in real time and needs no sound. Help pauses your flight; close it and choose Resume when ready.

01Make your first hit

Steer below a scout and let your plane fire

1 · Steer under a scoutScout · 1 hitAuto-fire ↑Your plane2 · Defeated → +100
Before: line up your plane beneath a blue scout. After: one automatic bolt defeats it for 100 points. You can keep moving while you fire.
  • Choose Start. Keyboard: focus the game and use the arrow keys or WASD to steer in any direction. P pauses the focused game. Fire is automatic; no fire button is needed.
  • Mouse or pen: press the primary button on the field, then drag to steer. Touch: drag on the field. Your drag starts wherever you press, so your finger can stay below the plane without a jump.
  • Lift or release to hold your position while firing continues. Hover does not take over keyboard steering. Portrait and landscape are supported.

02Ride a mint wake

Defeat a lead, then choose a safe route through its ribbon

Lead → wake → Wing fireLead · 2 hitsRide the ribbon+200 pointsTwin-lane fire4 seconds · refreshes
A golden lead takes 2 hits and gives 180 points. Its mint ribbon is a wake. Fly through for 200 extra points and 4 active seconds of twin-lane Wing fire. Another wake refreshes the duration rather than adding more time.

Wing fire helps you cover a wider line. It does not protect your hull. Base fire is enough if the safer route misses a wake.

03Read hazards and your HUD

Move away from a gunner’s locked warning line

Read the amber warningGunner · 3 hitsMove away from the lineHull 4 → 3 · shield 1.5s
Plum gunners take 3 hits. Their amber muzzle ring and aiming line warn before a shot. Dodge enemy aircraft and amber shots. A hit costs one hull; a shield ring protects your central fuselage for 1.5 seconds afterward. Your wings are forgiving.
  • Score is your earned total. Wave counts the continuing waves. Hull pips show your remaining chances, starting at 4. Wing fire means twin lanes are active; Base fire means your ordinary shots.
  • Blue scouts, golden leads and plum gunners are aircraft hazards. Mint narrow trails are your shots; mint chevron ribbons are collectible wakes. Amber circles are hostile shots, and the muzzle ring with a line is a warning.
  • Missing an enemy or wake does not damage your plane. Losing your last hull finishes the flight. Every third completed wave restores one hull, up to 4; a full hull does not earn replacement points.

Defeats, pickups and completed waves add points

Your points stay with youScout · 1 hit+100Lead · 2 hits+180Gunner · 3 hits+250Wake · ride through+200Clear 300 + clean 150Clean wave bonus · 450
Defeats give scout 100, lead 180 and gunner 250; wake pickups give 200. Completing a wave adds 300, plus 150 if no hull was lost during that wave: 450 clear points in total, before enemy and wake points.

04Continue, pause, or Bank

A completed wave starts the next one

Keep your river flight going1 → 2 → 3 → …18 active seconds per waveEvery 3rd clear · +1 hullWave 13+ · steady challengeBank · keep earned points
Each wave lasts 18 active seconds. Six patterns repeat and mirror with your score and hull retained. Difficulty settles from wave 13; there is no final wave or run timer. Bank or zero hull ends your flight.
  • Bank asks for confirmation. Bank score keeps the points already earned, including partway through a wave; it adds no unfinished-wave bonus. Keep playing returns to a paused flight. Play Again starts fresh; Menu returns to the games.
  • How to Play keeps the original text. Visual Guide opens these pictures. Help, browser interruptions, changing display and too little room preserve your flight, then require explicit Resume. Release held keys or a drag, then use fresh input.
  • The field needs at least 288 × 216 pixels, plus room for the HUD and controls. Browser headers and safe areas affect space. If More room to fly appears, enlarge the window, rotate your device or expand the game.
  • Use Full screen when supported, or Expand game for a larger view. Browser bars may remain. The display control exits that view. Scroll outside the field to reach the information below.
